Personal hand hygiene.

Hand washing Is a procedure, whose task is to cleanse our hands from excessive amounts of microorganisms. The essence of this procedure is, to prevent the spread of microorganisms in your home, since they can be disease-causing

If you practice good personal hygiene and wash your hands frequently, people around you do not always follow these rules, who touch the same objects, what do you, eg, in transport, in stores, at work. To improve the quality of your life and the well-being of loved ones, wash your hands:

  • to, during and after cooking;
  • before eating;
  • after caring for a sick family member;
  • before, how will you treat your wounds, cuts, abrasions on the skin;
  • after using the toilet
  • after changing diapers or caring for children;
  • after coughing, sneezing, cleansing the nose;
  • after caring for animals;
  • after handling household waste;
  • after returning home from the street.

The Sanitary and Epidemiological Service of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus, in accordance with the WHO recommendations, proposes to adhere to 5 easy steps for hand washing, to keep your health:

  • wet your hands warm, if possible, water and lather them (or apply a small amount of liquid soap (more preferably) pea-sized;
  • rub your hands until then, until the soap foams, paying attention to the fingers, skin between fingers and under nails;
  • keep rubbing your hands some more 15 seconds;
  • wash off the soap under running water;
  • dry your hands with a paper towel, also use a paper towel, to close the tap or if you need to open the toilet door.

The benefits of hand washing

  • - Prevention of many diseases, arising from the ingress of pathogens into the body. This happens when eating food with unwashed hands. (even if they are "kind of" clean, and even if you do not touch the food with your hands).
  • - A significant reduction in the likelihood of contracting an infectious disease after visiting public places. Infections can be transmitted through handrails in transport, door handles, money, etc.
  • - Pleasant hand smell, nice appearance, moral satisfaction from the feeling of cleanliness and peace of mind for your health.

Remember!

Hand hygiene is not just a recommendation, which can be neglected. This is a necessity. But, Unfortunately, many people do not understand this. And this is one of the reasons, due to which such people are faced with various diseases (most often infectious). AND, what is most unpleasant, they cannot grasp the link between poor hand hygiene and skin blemishes, sores, or abdominal pain. Because of this, they face problems again and again, which are easy to avoid.
