TUBERCULOSIS IN THE REPUBLIC OF BELARUS

24 March - World Tuberculosis Day. Celebrated by the decision of the World Health Organization (TRAIN) in a day, when in 1882 r. German microbiologist Robert Koch announced his discovery of the causative agent of tuberculosis. IN 1993 r. WHO declared tuberculosis a national disaster, and day 24 March - World Tuberculosis Day.

For World Tuberculosis Day, 24 Martha 2016 of the year, WHO calls on governments, civil societies and the private sector to the slogan "Together we end TB". WHO and partners foster dialogue and collaboration, which brings people and communities together in search of new ways to end the tuberculosis epidemic.

Main directions:

Together we will tackle TB by ending poverty

Together we can better diagnose, heal and heal

Together we will end stigma and discrimination

Together we will drive new research and innovation

In May 2014. World Health Assembly, convened annually by WHO at the Palais des Nations in Geneva, adopted a resolution, which fully endorsed the new Global Strategy on Tuberculosis with its ambitious post- 2015 of the year "End the TB Epidemic" (End TB Strategy). Read completely »

Tuberculosis (TB) remains a major public health problem in the WHO European Region. According to the latest estimates, about 340 000 new cases of TB and 33 000 deaths have been reported in the Region in 2014 g., mainly in the countries of Eastern and Central Europe (rice. 1).

During the last 10 years, the number of new TB cases has decreased on average by 5,2% in year. However, TB case registration rates in high TB ​​priority countries remain almost eight times higher, than other countries in the Region.

Treatment results also remain unsatisfactory. Treatment success rates for newly diagnosed cases and relapses, registered in 2013 year, made up 76%, and for previously treated patients, they were 58%. Only about a third of people, who have been diagnosed with multidrug-resistant TB (MLU-TB), were successfully treated in 2012 r. (rice. 2). Read completely »

Building law-abiding behavior and personal safety skills

Systematic work of state bodies at all levels, other organizations and citizens to strengthen public safety and discipline helped to reduce the number of deaths and injuries.

As a result of joint efforts, undertaken in recent years, the life of the country's citizens has become safer and more comfortable.

At the same time, the existing problems in ensuring public safety and discipline have not been fully resolved., including the problem of industrial injuries.

The main causes of accidents, caused the loss of life, are the irresponsible attitude of citizens to personal safety, as well as the failure of the heads of organizations, regardless of the form of ownership, of their obligations to ensure healthy and safe working conditions, compliance with fire and industrial safety requirements, production and technological discipline and insufficient control by the heads of state bodies over the activities of subordinate organizations.
